The MOST frequently asked question by all of us seeking to shed the pounds and one that I get asked on a daily basis is:

What is the Fastest Way to Lose Weight?

Fastest? or Healthiest?  Now THAT is the real discussion I would like to have here.  Because there are a number of ways you can lose weight in an UNSAFE way quickly, but I want to make sure if you are going to lose weight quickly that you do it, well, SAFELY . . !

First of all, I’m guessing that you and I have one thing in common: battling weight loss.  I myself have had my roller coaster ride of weight fluctuations over the years.  I can safely say, we are not alone.  In fact, on a global scale, there are more than 1 BILLION overweight adults, and those who are obese take up 30% of that number!

YIKES!!

I made my decision to lose the weight a few years ago; but not without trial and error.

I will admit that I sought out the fastest (not smartest) ways to lose weight without considering my health or a long term plan.  Thankfully I did end up finding what WORKS for me and what continues to be my diet plan even today.

But not without a lot of research and effort.

SO, in losing weight I got a lot of people asking me for my “secret”, and what it is that I did to go from very overweight to —> fit & thin.

When I tell them that there really is NO “secret” to losing weight, I usually got a laugh or two.  Truth is there are certain factors that play a role in the battle of the bulge, and keeping it off for good.

Let’s consider a few key ingredients here . . . Food (Diet), Fitness, and YOU; each has a HUGE impact on losing weight fast . . .

FOOD:

If you are wondering what is the fastest way to lose weight then you must first consider your diet.  Ask yourself what you consume (EAT) on a daily basis?  Are these foods contributing to your weight gain?  Do you even have a clue as to what your daily calorie intake is?  I know it sounds daunting to count calories (and yes it is if you don’t have the proper tools) but there are programs out there like what I use that help you with this.  Thank goodness ;)

“You Are What You Eat!”

This saying is so true.  Food plays such an integral role in losing weight.  The science behind it is plain and simple:  Less food + exercise = weight loss.  Sounds simple but we all know it’s easier said than done.

But hey!  Rome wasn’t built in a day . . .

FITNESS:

Getting yourself the kind of body you deserve is going to require some effort on your part.  The good news is that you can start small and gradually modify your exercise regime over time.

I always think of it like this:  What would be easier . . . to work off 300 calories of “cheese cake” (which I absolutely love) or to burn that same 300 calories through exercise and see results a lot quicker.  It really makes me think twice about indulging in too much food when it is put into perspective of how much work will go into burning those same calories off.

Is a piece of cheese cake worth a 30 minute run?  9 times out of 10 I will choose a different snack or desert instead.  Following this procedure of making the “correct” choices throughout the day will lead you to smarter food choices.  This will lead to the single fastest way to lose weight.
